Bacon owns and operates a private-charter 6-PAK service, Wave Walker Charters, in Santa Barbara. He grew up fishing Southern California coastal and island waters, and the Baja peninsula. Now he offers his experience, expertise, and humor to anyone who charters his boat or reads his articles.

He writes regular articles for every issue of Pacific Fisherman Magazine and for the Southern California edition of Fishing & Hunting News.
