Dennis Aprill
Dennis Aprill, editor of Good
Fishing in the Adirondacks, is also co-author of Mammals of
the Adirondacks. He is the Outdoors Columnist for the Plattsburgh
(NY) Press-Republican. His articles have appeared in magazines
and newsletters such as The Angling Report, Sports Afield, Country
Journal, Adirondack Life and Maine Life.
Aprill is a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America (OWAA), in the New York State Outdoor Writers Association, the New England Outdoor Writers Association and the Outdoor Writers of Canada. He has won writing and photography awards from each of these organizations, and over the past three years, his newspaper articles have finished in the top three in the prestigious OWAA writing contests.
Aprill teaches at the State University of New York, Plattsburgh and lives in a remote section of northern New York. He is also a licensed New York guide (#1474) and a member of the New York State Outdoor Guides Association.
He has fished most of the waters described in his book.
